Kylien Mbappé is currently the 9 with Real Madrid and will wear that number during the FIFA Club World Cup tournament in the US over the summer of 2025. However, once the music stops in America, will Mbappe continue with 9 or will he switch to then vacant number 10 left by Modric ending his Madrid career in July.

My guess is that the trademark KM 10 + 9 will be upgraded simply to KM10 similar to Cristiano Ronaldo and CR7. Mbappe is the captain for the French national teams and he wears the number 10. He could probably have worn the 9 or 7 if he wanted. But he has picked the 10. Now confronted with a choice to make at Madrid: 9 or 10 , I think he will opt for the 10.
