  • Premier League letters and numbers 2017/18

Latest News! A new Premier League design has been launched with regard to letters and numbers.

New sleeve badges were introduced before the start of the season 2016/17. The new design seen to the left of the photos were introduced as substitutes for the previous design seen to the right hand side of the photo.

Apparently the Premier League is now such a massive business in its own right that they do not need an external sponsor anymore. The league advertises the league: Premier League.

The new logo featuring a lion head with a crown on top has been included in the numbers as well starting with the 17/18 season.

The font of the numbers has also changed to a more clean less bulky one.

In the photo to the left hand side the new font is seen. At the center the old player's version PS PRO. And to the right hand side of the photo the old replica version called PU.

The new 17/18 product has essentially merged the two by bringing the quality of the PS PRO with color block at the back while downsizing the size to the size of the old PU format.

The logo size seems about the same taking into consideration the dimensions of the new and old version.

Letters have also changed to a new font.

From the top the 17/18 letters. PS PRO letters, PU letters.

Once again the two types of letters from previous seasons have been merged into just one.

  • No Teslas in Russia ?

Russia has a vast number of luxury cars driving on the streets. The most popular luxury seems to be Mercedes. But also Audis, BMWs, and Rolls Royces can be seen.

In the West Tesla has become the car of choice among many in the luxury segment over the past couple of years. But no Teslas are to be spotted on Russian roads. Why not ?

Well, Tesla uses a direct business to consumer sales model. No dealerships as intermediaries. And since many US companies shy away from direct involvement in the Russian market that might be the reason why Tesla is not selling its' wares in Russia. However, rumors has it that it might be contemplating move in order to tap the vast Russian market.

    Tesla automobile

In Denmark for instance Teslas are everywhere. In Norway it is huge as well. In both countries tax credits have been given since it is considered to be environmentally friendly. In Denmark the subsidy has been removed though so new Tesla sales has surely declined significantly.

Tesla carTesla relies upon an infrastructure of recharging stations. Gas is very cheap in Russia. And the country is huge. Though most people do not use the car for intercity travel. But mainly around their home city and its vicinity.

Not sure if there is any existing network in place Tesla would be able to use in order to build out charging stations. Or if the company would have to build it from scratch which would most likely mean that it would do so in Moscow and St. Petersburg exclusively.

  • Most expensive hotel in Moscow ?

Moscow has a wide range of hotels. From small boutique hotels, over hostels, to 5 star luxury hotels. But which one takes the crown as the most expensive hotel in town ?

Not long ago that honor befell the Ritz Carlton in Tverskaya Ulitsa. But nothing lasts forever and what used to be but it s no longer is often forgotten. Ritz Carlton itself is relatively new and probably opened the doors around 2008 or 2009. Back then being the latest new kid on the block it got a lot of attention due to the opulence of the place. In a Moscow Times article it was stated that 80% of the visitors to the hotel at the time were from Central Asia. And by Central Asia we are talking countries like Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaidjan etc. The hotel is very close by the Red Square and the Kremlin with one caveat though. One has to cross a busy road in order to actually get there. At the top there is a view bar with a great view towards the Kremlin.

    Ritz Carlton Hotel in Moscow

Business and politics often mix in RUssia like in many other countries. This might explain why the most prominent hotels are not situated around the business areas like Moskva Citi, Belarusskaya or Paveletskaya. These areas do have their fair share of business hotels with the likes of Marriott, Sheraton, Radisson, Novotel etc. But the really top of the top , creme de la creme are at the other end of Tverskaya. Close to the Kremlin. Coincidence ?

Ritz Carlton still holds second place as the second most expensive hotel in Moscow. So not a place for Sepp Blatter ) But the top prize goes to ??

    Four Seasons hotel Moscow

Yeap you guessed it. The Four Seasons hotel on the other side of the road cutting off Tverskaya from the Kremlin. This hotel is just a stone throw away from the absolute center of Russia the Kremlin.

The hotel is opened just recently. The building is not new. It is dating back to Sovjet times.

The proportions are vast. The hotel takes up an entire block. At the ground floor one can find a Jamie Oliver branded Italian restaurant + a number of luxury goods stores.

Above a huge number of rooms are available. Not sure who stays there but probably a mix of politicians, business people, and wealthy individuals - many probably from China.

    Moskva Four Seasons hotel

Tourism from China has increased dramatically to Russia over the past view years. Probably during the same time interval the number of western tourists have dropped.
